CH 54 SKYCRANE ASSOCIATION MISSION
The mission of the CH 54 Skycrane Association is to bring together all of the CH 54 units and the men that were associated with them. The purpose of this is to renew old friendships and to make new friends. The agenda is simple, share stories, pictures and the mission. We all have one thing in common and that is the CH 54 Skycrane and in most case much more. This association is a social group that has yearly reunions at different location each year. This gives the attendees an opportunity to site see a new place and for those that have time or travel circumstances an alternative.
HISTORY
In September of 2000 the 273rd had a reunion at Fort Eustis, VA. At that time it was decided to form the “CH 54 Skycrane Association” to include all CH 54 Skycrane units under one organized group. There were officer elected, President, Secretary & Treasurer, Ways and Means and Historian. Also at this reunion it was voted to affiliate the CH 54 Skycrane Association with the Vietnam Helicopter Crew Members Association (VHCMA). The CH 54 Skycrane Association has it’s reunion in conjunction with the VHCMA. This gives us a great advantage in the planning of location, motel discount, and places of interest. There are many organized helicopter units that have mini reunions under the VHCMA main reunion. It is not required to join the VHCMA to attend, but it is required you pay their registration fee. This registration fee covers our hospitality room, beverages and snacks.
PRESENT
At present we have members from 273rd, 295th, 355th and the 478th. Although there are other Skycrane units, but we have not been contacted by them, they are welcome.
